Horses are ungulates — mammals with hooves. They also have long tails, short hair, muscular torsos, long thick necks and elongated heads. Wild horses live in many different parts of the US and Canada. They form herds, eat, and live just like they did in the past. Finding them is easy. Horses live in every region of the world except Antarctica and the northern Arctic regions of North America, Europe and Asia. Most horses are domesticated.

All forms of competition, requiring demanding and specialized skills from both horse and rider, resulted in the systematic development of specialized breeds and equipment for each sport. The auctioned ponies go to good homes and are trained for riding just as any other horse would be. There is an extensive, specialized vocabulary used to describe equine-related concepts, covering everything from anatomy to life stages, size, colors , markings , breeds , locomotion , and behavior. Actually, horse offspring are called foals. It is eaten in many parts of the world, though consumption is taboo in some cultures,  and a subject of political controversy in others. Other sports, such as rodeo , developed from practical skills such as those needed on working ranches and stations. But I was still riding her and she was still jumping although nothing like the height or amount she used to.
